Some people are confused CB certification and IEC report in the end what is the difference. To do CB certification or IEC62133? So we have summarized the following points, hoping to help our customers better understand.
1. Different areas of application.
CB system (IEC system for qualification test and certification of electrical products) is an international system operated by IECEE. The certification bodies of IECEE member states test the safety performance of electrical products like lithium battery on the basis of IEC standards, the CB test report and the CB test certificate are mutually recognized in each member state of IECEE. The aim is to reduce barriers to international trade arising from the need to meet different national certification or approval criteria. IECEE is short for the International Electrotechnical Commission.
The purpose of the IEC62133 is to promote, through its members, international cooperation in the field of electrification, standardization in the field of electronic engineering, such as conformity assessment based on standards, cooperation in electrical, electronic and related technologies, etc.
2. Different relationship
CB is the certification, is the statute, belongs to the management level. CB system is the international common electrical standards, can be converted into a number of national certificates, such as CE, KC certificate.
IEC is the standard, is the technical parameter, belongs to the standard to the product.
3. Different test cycles
CB: Test time is about 5-6 weeks.
IEC62133: Test time is about 15 working days.
4. Different number of test samples
CB: Test samples are 70 units cells + 25 units battery packs.
IEC62133: Test samples are 68 units cells + 21 units battery packs.
5. Different testing costs
CB costs about 4 times as much as IEC62133 for lithium polymer battery.
